The UGreen 40189 accepts HDMI audio and video from camcorders, cameras, and similar gear, then delivers a capture stream over USB 2.0 to hosts with USB-A or USB-C. Use it to archive footage, run live sessions, or review meetings and classes later.

HDCP: Sources protected with HDCP encryption cannot be captured or recorded through this device.
Where it fits
Dual connectors suit laptops, tablets, phones, webcams, Kindle readers, and comparable hardware. Typical setups include camera feeds, mobile-game streams, console streams, and desktop broadcasting. A handheld screen can mirror console play or serve as an on-set monitor.
Physical setup
Driver installation and a separate power brick are not required—attach the unit and begin playback or capture. Housing is aluminum alloy; mass is about 19.9g for easy packing.
Apps and operating systems
Runs on Windows 8.1/10, Linux, iOS 17, and Android. Pair with OBS, XSplit, PotPlayer, QuickTime Player, USB Camera Viewer, and related tools for streaming, editing, and high-resolution transfer. On iPadOS, update to version 17 or newer before use.
