Nearby search
Open the Items tab in Find My to trigger AirTag’s built-in speaker, or use Siri to start a search when something is under cushions or in the next room. On select iPhone models, Precision Finding with Ultra Wideband can show distance and direction to a close-by tag.
Farther away on the map
The Find My network — hundreds of millions of Apple devices — can relay an AirTag’s location when it is not right beside you. Network traffic stays anonymous and encrypted; location data and history are not stored on the AirTag itself.
If it goes missing
Lost Mode sends you a notification when the tag appears on the network. A finder can tap the AirTag with a smartphone to see contact details you choose to display.

Find My app scope
Find My locates iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Apple Watch, Mac, AirPods, and AirTag — map view, audible ping, Lost Mode, remote erase where supported, and Activation Lock when Find My is on. Offline hardware can still be traced through the encrypted Find My network where available.
