Description
Apple MK2C3 Magic Keyboard with Touch ID
The MK2C3 variant of Magic Keyboard ships with Touch ID and a numeric pad, linking to your Mac over Bluetooth while running on a rechargeable cell so you are not swapping AA batteries.
System requirements
Setup is automatic on a Mac with Apple silicon. You need macOS 11.4 or later on that hardware before Touch ID and wireless features work as intended.
Key layout highlights
Beyond the main QWERTY block, the extended design adds document navigation shortcuts for faster scrolling and full-size arrow keys aimed at precise, comfortable input during long sessions.
Biometric sign-in
Touch ID on the keyboard lets you unlock the Mac and authenticate in apps and websites that accept Apple’s fingerprint flow.
Runtime and inbox contents
Expect roughly a month or more of typical use between charges; actual runtime depends on how often you type and use backlighting if applicable. Apple includes a woven USB-C to Lightning cable to pair through a USB-C port on the Mac and top up the battery.
The numeric section remains handy for ledger work, tables, and any task that benefits from a dedicated number row on the right.
